What we keep about you
In plain words: what RAIN VR Meet and the RAIN Virtual Resort ask for, why, and who can see it.
When you make an account
- Your name: shown to people you meet.
- Your e-mail address: to sign in, and for your meetings, receipts and invitations. Never shown to other people.
- A password: stored scrambled, so nobody at RAIN can read it.
- Your country and town or city: so we know where our visitors come from and can plan for them. Never shown to other people.
- Your phone number: to keep accounts real and for safety. Never shown to other people, and never used for adverts.
- That you are 13 or older. Children under 13 join only through an invitation from their school, teacher or parent, and then meet only their own teacher and classmates.
As you use it
- Your avatar, as you made it.
- The meetings you host or join, and who was there, so hosts can keep attendance and carry on later.
- Contacts and chats you choose to make in the resort.
- Things you leave in a meeting or a building (files, boards, notes, films). Things nobody has used for 90 days are deleted, after a reminder.
- Payments: what was paid and when. Card details go to Paystack and never reach RAIN.
- Visits: which parts of the resort are busy and how long people stay, counted together for RAIN's own planning. Never shown about any one person.
- Reports and blocks, so people stay safe.
Who can see it
- Other people see only your name, your avatar, and whether you are in the resort (if you allow it). When you are in a meeting, others are told only that you are in a meeting: never which, where or until when.
- RAIN staff see your details only to run the service, deal with payments, or act on a safety report.
- We never sell your details.
Your choices
- Turn off being found by name, and block anyone, on the safety page.
- You can ask for your account and everything in it to be deleted: sign in, then come back to this page.
